A TAME draw with Bourne Poacher B brought a vastly improved Fylde League division 2 season to a close for St Annes IV - finishing a creditable fourth.
Although young bowlers Ben Hall, Adam Duxbury and Tom Bolus all did well, it was the older guard of Ian McCabe (4-46) and Mick Auty (2-26) who took the honours.
Fielding was sharp, with skipper Tim Rawstrom pouching a hot, one-handed effort and the visitors totalled 157-8.
The target was always too high for St Annes in the time allowed, although Auty (32) provided real backbone and Nigel Connolly (38 n.o.) and debutant Andy Delaney (15) batted entertainingly as they reached 110-5.
