Hednesford 1 Morecambe 3
MORECAMBE'S unbeaten start to the season continued with a win over a highly rated Hednesford outfit.
The Midlanders have been in the top half of the conference for a couple of years now, but the club which had to preserve a newt sanctuary when it built its new ground were no match for Jim Harvey's improving side.
Hednesford were a classic example of the kind of side Jim Harvey was referring to when he talked about big spenders - the wealthy club lured the conference's top scorer John Norman form Christie Park in the summer.
It was Norman who nodded in Adie Mike's flick on to give Hednesford a seventh minute lead.
Within four minutes, however Jim Harvey's side had pulled level, when Paul Burns fired a shot across the area to level the scores.
When the shrimps do spend money they spend it well and it was record signing Justin Jackson who put his side ahead with a classy strike on 36 minutes. He turned the Hednesford defence and hit a curling shot into the home side's net.
Despite pressure in the second half the Shrimps took until the final minute to ensure the three points when Neill hardy followed in Paul Burns' shot to make the game safe.
