THE owners of the former Parkside Colliery site near Newton-le-Willows are undertaking a study of the site with a view to redeveloping the land. Railtrack, who bought the site last September, plan to use the study findings in a public consultation programme later this year. If agreed upon, the brownfield site will undergo a major restoration bringing it in line with the Government's coalfield regeneration initiative.
