IN the latest attempt to enforce motorcycle safety in the Lune Valley, Lancaster police have been granted a powerful ally - their very own mean machine!
The Road Safety Department have acquired a 750cc Kawasaki motorbike to be used as part of the 'BikeSafe 2000' initiative.
The scheme aims to reduce casualties which affect the hundreds of motorcyclists who flock to meeting places such as the nearby Devils Bridge. The news follows a number of recent accidents on the roads between Lancaster and Kirby Lonsdale.
