ST HELEN Combination outfit Carr Mill were sent crashing out of the North West Alliance Champions Cup when they were hammered 4-0 by Preston outfit Whitbread.
An out-of-sorts Carr Mill lacked bite in attack and their usually dependale midfield could not cope with the strength and tenacity of their two Preston opposites.
Only defenders Scott Tickle and Ian Pilkington did themselves justice while Paul Toole never stopped trying.
Meanwhile, this weekend sees the start of the Combination programme.
However, the league will be without Hall Street Union, who have resigned.
Secretary David Watkins is concerned about the number of clubs who have so far faile to disclose their insurance cover to him. Clubs who have not done so will not be allowed to kick-off until they have done so. FIXTURES
