A YORKSHIRE woman who won a dream holiday to Paris spurned the most romantic city in the world in favour of her beloved Blackpool!

Sharron Davison, of Wakefield, turned down the four-star trip to the French capital, where she was set to visit famous tourist spots such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Sacr Coeur, after she won a competition at her local Morrisons supermarket.

Instead the bubbly housewife asked the store if she could go to Blackpool - her favourite destination.

Sharron, 29, said: "Who wants to go up the Eiffel Tower when we've got our own?

"I'd much rather eat a sugar dummy at Blackpool than eat goat's cheese on a posh plate in a restaurant on the Champs Elysees."

But this isn't the first time Sharron has turned down a trip to the romantic city.

When she was 11 she passed over the chance to join classmates on a trip because she believed it wasn't as good as Blackpool.

Sharron, who has visited the resort at least 50 times, admitted to mixed feelings when she won the top prize in the raffle.

"I couldn't believe I'd won a holiday - I'd never won anything before in my life," she said.

"But when I found out it was to Paris I was really disappointed.

"My dream holiday is Blackpool and always has been.

"I love strolling along the pier with some candy floss and fish and chips.

"I bet Paris hasn't got anything to match that.

"No destination can match Blackpool.

"It's got great food, fantastic beach, breathtaking sights and is everything anyone could possibly need in a holiday."
