PRESTON boss David Moyes is still seeing red after watching his second player in a fortnight sent off the pitch, again in dubious circumstances.
Just seven days after Sean Gregan was dismissed against Wycombe Wanderers, David Lucas was giving his marching orders for a professional foul on Wigan striker Andy Liddell.
And although the keeper's sending off may be deemed fair, the referee's actions following the incident have prompted outrage.
Referee David Pugh - who refereed the punch-up between Gillingham and Blackpool last week - initially played advantage, watched Wigan miss an open goal then awarded a penalty!
Moyes is also angry that not only were the opposition awarded the penalty, they also managed to get Lucas sent off the field.
He said: "It is like being punished twice, and that isn't fair.
"It shouldn't have been a sending off and a penalty and he certainly shouldn't have played advantage and then awarded the penalty.
"the referee did everything he could to make sure they scored."
Before the penalty was awarded, North End were in control, having taken a 1-0 lead through Steve Basham. The incident changed the course of the game, and although Moyes admits the sending off was technically right, he is still angry.
And his thoughts were shared by Mark Rankine, who added: "I don't understand it, the referee said that if they had scored he wouldn't have sent David off."
