A CORONER heard how an Ingleton man and two friends were killed in a horrific car crash - whilst the driver was banned for previous offences.
The inquest at Lancaster coroner's court heard how Scott Bonsall, 20 was past the drink drive limit while behind the wheel of the Ford Fiesta XR2. Jon Greenfield, 20, also from Ingleton and Phillip Stephenson, 22 from Bentham also died in the accident.
The crash took place early on the morning of May 22.
The three were rushed to Lancaster infirmary after the crash on the A65. Coroner George Howson described the incident as "One of the worst crashes I have dealt with."
Mr Bonsall had been banned from driving after accumulating too many penalty points.
A verdict of death by misadventure was recorded on all three men.
