WORK has started on the £100,000 refurbishment of the Marks & Spencer store in The Square, Bury.
It is one of more than 100 M & S stores across the UK to undergo an internal modernisation programme which will include new window displays and a simpler interior lay-out.
And there's more good news for local shoppers as M & S Bury will be increasing its range of clothing, including selling women's suits and men's jackets for the first time.
Customers will also be able to take advantage of an improved ordering service and refurbished fitting rooms, including disabled facilities.
The changes are expected to be completed by Sunday, September 5, and will showcase Marks & Spencer's new autumn range.
Store manager Steve O'Brien said: "We are very excited and we know our customers will be delighted with the end result."
