POLICE are continuing their hunt for a gang of teenage arsonists who torched cable TV junction boxes in a spate of weekend arsons in Bury.
Four youths, who were in a car, struck three times in quick succession within a one mile stretch on Saturday night about 9pm.
A Bury fire crew raced to one blazing box in Barlow Fold Road, they discovered another ablaze on route in Leyland Street.
And at the same time a Whitefield crew was called out to deal with a carbon copy fire in Tarn Drive.
Station officer Pete Seddon of Bury Fire Station, said: "As the car-load of four teenagers was going from Blackford Bridge up Manchester Road, they were setting light to these Nynex junction boxes on the pavements.
"They were forcing the front covers off, pouring petrol over them and firing them."
It is not known if any of the boxes sustained internal damage.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
