A COLNE housing estate is to benefit from a £168,000 six-month improvement programme.
Burnley-based B&N Housing which owns and manages the 32 properties in Burrans Meadow has appointed Salford contractors G&J Seddon Ltd to carry out the maintenance and improvement works.
The properties, mainly one and two-bedroom flats are almost 20 years old.
Simon Parker, B&N's regional manager said: "They are regularly maintained and repaired when necessary but it was decided it was time to make improvements to the fabric of the buildings."
He added: "Consultation with residents has taken place and, as a result, the properties will benefit from new front doors, double glazed uPVC windows and improved security measures which will meet the police 'Secure by Design' standards.
"Insulation and ventilation work will also take place along with other maintenance works."
B&N Housing will this year invest around £1.25 million in the North West where it manages about 4,500 properties from its regional offices in Burnley, Leyland, Barrow-in-Furness and Ashton-under-Lyne.
