FUNK rockers A-Jay And The Maya are set to tour Japan supporting Kula Shaker.
The five-piece, whose lead singer and guitarist Ajay Srivaftava, was brought up in Accrington, are as yet unsigned - but that could change soon as record company interest grows.
The band have been told they will play seven gigs in Japan - four with Kula Shaker and three on their own. The tour will either take place in November or January and the band expect to be told the exact dates this weekend.
The group's percussionist Behzad Mokir is from Accrington and drummer Tobe Lamb used to live in Blackburn. The band now live in London, where they are playing the music circuit.
