GLASS paperweights featuring a unique coat of arms will be given out to village schoolchildren as a special millennium memento.
Tockholes Village Hall Committee came up with the idea as part of their plans for celebrations to mark the milestone.
The coat of arms will be loosely based the one belonging to the Hollingshead family who lived in Hollingshead Hall, Tockholes, until the last century.
Tockholes artist Adrian Rigby is to design it.
Committee member Graham Marsh said: "Producing the paperweight means the children will have something to remember the millennium.
"The coat of arms was found to the oldest one associated with the village so we thought it would be nice to try and incorporate it."
