BLACKBURN Under 15s open their Northern Merit League programme with an away match against Blackpool on Saturday, September 11.

Town team officials have been busy working with the squad during the past few weeks making final preparations for a competition which culminates in the top four meeting in a play off in May. Blackburn follow that with another Northern Merit League match against Leeds at Pleasington on Saturday, September 18 (kick-off 10.30am).

Blackburn will be hoping for a good start to the season and they quickly follow their first league matches with their crunch Heinz Ketchup Trophy first round clash against Manchester at Belle Vue at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Blackburn Under 15s have been grouped with Burnley, Rossendale, Hyndburn and Pendle in this season's Lancashire Cup competition. The top two go through to the semi-finals, where they will meet the top two from a group comprising Chorley, South Ribble, Preston, West Lancashire and Blackpool.

Blackburn Under 14s will compete in a similar group for the Lancashire Schools' Wrennal Trophy.
