RAWTENSTALL needed to score four runs off the last over to win the Lancashire Colts League Under-11 Championship final at Longridge.
But they were unable to get even one run as the Longridge boys claimed the trophy with a fine example of tight bowling and fielding under pressure.
Longridge had added 72 to the 200 runs with which each team started, but lost four wickets, each costing a deduction of six runs from the total, to set Rawtenstall a nett target of 248.
The visitors scored 275-5 in their allotted 16 overs to finish with a nett 245.
