AS you are no doubt aware Heritage Weekend is on September 11 and 12.
A lot will be made of our historical buildings but what about Lancaster's other heritage? I mean its elderly!
Every major city in Lancashire has a community centre for its pensioners. Where's ours?
Age Concern operate out of very restricted premises on King Street and I know the secretary Shirley Sharples has applied for grants left, right and centre.
The answer is always the same - come back when you've got a building.
The council has offered us zilch!
Is a building for the elderly too much to ask for?
