SOME twelve months ago, the Bury Times kindly published a successful appeal for musicians and drummers for our Fusiliers Association military band and corps of drums.
The band, which sports a scarlet military uniform with sealskin caps, is now 25-strong with 10 drummers. However, we still have vacancies for brass and woodwind musicians of either sex or anyone willing to train as drummers.
The band is based at the Castle Armoury in Bury and parades are on Wednesday evenings from 7-30pm to 9-30pm. Telephone enquiries to the director of music 0161-798 9499 or regimental headquarters 0161-764 2208.
ERIC W. DAVIDSON,
Lt Colonel (rtd), band president.
