I AM writing this letter in the hope that other readers will take note.
When people with walking difficulties or any other disabilities used to say to me that other pedestrians and motorists didn't care whether they were there or not, I dismissed it as bitterness.
But recently I have had to use a walking stick to get around and can say, without doubt, that the thoughtlessness of some people is overwhelming.
A few days ago I was crossing the road in Chapel Brow, Leyland, and, when I looked, there were no cars on the road - except for three parked outside a nearby shop.
When I was half-way across the road, someone got into one of the cars parked there and set off - heading straight for me.
Although I was taking a little longer than usual to cross the road, I took offence to the driver honking his horn incessantly because I was in his way.
Of course this doesn't apply to every driver, but the guilty ones should think how they would feel if the roles were reversed.
