SO the Government is calling for an end to the killing, is it?
Well that's rich!
Considering that Britain has helped to arm Indonesia, with our very own British Aerospace selling them Hawks and then claiming they are for training purposes. We knew all along what they were really for, didn't we?
At least anyone who can read would know.
In fact I recall reading it in the Citizen some time ago when Preston had a Coalition For East Timor, a group that was willing to speak out against the killings by the Indonesian Army.
That was when the violence was less direct, when it was bombs from planes striking faceless civilians.
Now it is militia men with their home-made weapons attacking the same faceless civilians, but there are pictures to prove it and suddenly everyone is up in arms about it. Like it wasn't totally predictable.
Well, nice show of concern, but it's a bit late for the thousands who have already perished indirectly by our own hand.
Whatever happened to Preston Coalition For East Timor anyway?
