HEARING the recent Which? report on banks brought to mind an experience of mine earlier this year.
Paying a deposit into my current account, I was informed interest was now being paid on the same.
Later in the year, as the interest was due, I watched out for the postman bringing my statement.
At last it came, I had the phone number of my financial adviser to hand.
I tore open the envelope with trembling hands, found the relevant entry - interest: 16p.
