YOUR front page story (LET, September 8) simply beggars belief.
This person, acknowledged as a highly dangerous sex offender, with a penchant for young boys, was taken to the railway station in Accrington, where he was put on a train for Preston, without any accompaniment whatsoever!
The decision to do this borders on the idiotic, as it could have put young people in grave danger from his perverted attacks, and we have a right to know who did it. Not only that, there must be an immediate change of policy, so that the stupidity will never be repeated.
We should have a clear and concise statement from the Probation people responsible - and after that, heads should roll.
