TWO boys from Hodgson High School's Year 11 jumped at the chance of going back to school a day early last week to give teachers a hi-tech presentation.
Junior whizzkids Chris Bracegirdle and Chris Ainsworth impressed headteacher Phil Wood so much during their computer-based presentation in a BAe competition, he asked them to repeat it in front of the teachers.
Phil said: "The event at British Aerospace's site at Warton involved a group of eight of our pupils designing and making a model aircraft that would fly a certain distance, over a certain amount of time, carrying a certain amount of weight - and then making a presentation.
"Our team did all the presentation work on the computer, but with video clips they edited themselves, bits from the Internet and so on.
"It was really impressive and so I asked two of the team to make this presentation to the staff for two reasons.
"Firstly I wanted to outline to the staff that in this school we have some outstanding pupils, and secondly as a pat on the back for all our teachers who give these children so many opportunities to excel.
"The pupils were a bit blas about it all - to them it was just some work they had done on the computer.
"But the staff were blown away and at the end of the presentation burst out into spontaneous applause."
