A DEMOLITION worker is recovering in hospital after he was trapped up to his waist by falling masonry.

Alan Perry (35) was also pinned by a girder which fell across him when a wall collapsed during demolition work in Radcliffe.

Colleagues and ambulance paramedics cleared away the debris before the injured man was rushed to hospital.

Mr Perry, who lives in Salford, sustained multiple fractures to a leg following the incident at the demolition site in Seddon Street on Wednesday, September 8.

Mr Perry is being treated for his leg injuries in Bury General Hospital. Yesterday, his condition was described as "stable".
