A 41-year-old Morecambe man has been jailed for six months for the indecent assault of a young girl.
Thomas Shields of Baycliffe Crescent, Morecambe, was convicted by a jury of the offence which took place last year.
Mr Tim Brennand, prosecuting, said Shields, had drunk four pints of beer before the assault.
Mr Andrew O'Byrne, defending, said it had been an "isolated incident."
Judge Brian Duckworth sentenced Shields to six months imprisonment and ordered him to be put on the sex offenders register for 10 years at Preston Crown Court.
He said the defendant had acted in a "thoroughly disgusting manner."
