HOMES in and around the Borough Road area of St Helens were without electricity for up to three hours last week following a fault with an underground cable.
The power supply went off at 1.25pm on Friday, September 3 and wasn't fully restored until 4.15pm.
Young mum, Karen Claffey, who lives on The Shires estate, told the Star: "I have got a seven-month-old baby to look after and I couldn't even sterilise his bottles without electricity. I got in touch with Manweb but they couldn't tell me when the power supply was coming back on and I was getting desperate. I don't understand how these problems keep happening."
A spokesman for Manweb told the Star: "We managed to isolate the problem to an underground 11,000- volt cable in Cheshire Gardens off Borough Road and our engineers are now looking into the cause. We apologise to all our customers who were affected by the inconvenience."
