A PROMISING young cellist, accepted to study at the Royal Academy of Music, is enjoying double success.
For two of her pupils look set to follow in her footsteps after being offered places in a top youth orchestra.
Catherine Chapman, 18, of St Mary's Drive, Langho, is soon to study at the prestigious London academy.
She attended St Mary's RC Primary School, Langho, and St Augustine's RC High School, Billington.
Until recently, she was principal cellist with the Lancashire Students' Symphony Orchestra, during which time she taught cello to Gabriella Passerini and James Baker, both 10.
They also attend St Mary's and have now been accepted to join the top orchestra's training section.
Gabriella described Catherine as a great teacher.
"We hope to follow in Catherine's footsteps and would like to thank her for all her help," she said.
