GOVERNMENT Ministers are to be invited to see Pendle's crumbling homes as part of a continued fight for extra housing cash.
Councillors agreed to ask Pendle MP Gordon Prentice to press the area's case for vital investment and seek his support in arranging a ministerial visit to the borough's worst-hit areas.
The moves were passed by the full Pendle Council, after all parties agreed on the need for extra cash to tackle the problems.
A motion by Liberal Democrat Shabir Ahmed to press for the responsible Ministers to visit Pendle was passed unanimously.
The motion began: "This council believes improving housing conditions in Pendle is a key part of regenerating the borough and that such improvements are vital to secure better health, education and employment conditions."
