RAILTRACK crossing keepers broke picket lines to give East Lancashire a rail service.
The staff manned signal boxes at Huncoat and Towneley to enable normal hourly services to operate on the Colne-Preston line for the first time since the start of the signalmen's action.
Railtrack said East Lancashire services were back on line as strikers began their 17th day of action.
