EMPLOYERS in East Lancashire are being urged to look at recruiting more older staff.
A recent national report found that older employees are often the most committed and enthusiastic recruits.
But many employers are put off taking them on because they don't have the skills often required in today's workplace.
"ELTEC has a wide range of training programmes aimed at equipping people of all ages and abilities with the skills demanded by today's employers," said Dave Williams, director of training operations.
"Target Training re-skills the unemployed to fill gaps in the local labour markets. It provides local employers with a ready source of skilled staff and residents with a successful route out of unemployment."
