YOUNGSTERS are invited to enter an awards scheme to promote community spirit in the borough.
The annual Blackburn with Darwen Community Awards are up for grabs, with sponsors including the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
The council is inviting nominations for groups and individuals who involve young people in neighbourhood activities.
Prizes will be awarded in four categories, including school groups, youth organisations, community projects and individuals, at a ceremony in November.
Judges will look at the impact of projects on community life over the last year.
Chairman of the awards committee Christine Connell said: "We're always pleased to encourage youngsters to get involved in community affairs.
"The awards offer us a first class opportunity to say thank you to the unsung heroes who make a valuable improvement to the lives of the people of Blackburn or Darwen.
"The awards scheme has gone from strength to strength and we're looking forward to receiving record nominations for this year's awards."
Entry forms are available at all council community centres and the closing date is October 31. For more details call 01254 55977.
