A POSTAL worker was injured when a lorry slid on a wet road into the cab of his Royal Mail van at lunchtime yesterday.
Martin Hunt, 36, of Lammack Road, Blackburn, was turning into Greenbank Road, Blackburn, from Blakewater Drive as a TRS lorry was turning out. Lorry driver, Gary Law, lost control of the vehicle and skidded so the rear of his vehicle hit the van door on the driver's side.
Mr Hunt was trapped as the door crushed around him and suffered leg injuries and cuts to the face and arms. He was freed by Blackburn firefighters working with the Accrington incident support unit. He was today " satisfactory" in Blackburn Royal Infirmary. Mr Law was unhurt.
Moments after the accident, several other drivers slowed to look at the crash and a Ford Fiesta crashed into a transit van in front. Neither driver was hurt.
