AID supplies continue to flood in to help struggling survivors of the Turkish earthquake disaster.
Good Samaritans from Astley and Tyldesley Miners Welfare Club at Gin Pit village have sent out the first load of supplies generously donated by local people.
Mountains of provisions have been stockpiled at the club and the first two tons of supplies have been flown-out by Turkish Airlines.
The airline company has agreed to fly regular consignments from Manchester Airport and, to help overcome supplies storage problems, John Muldoon of Kensite Services has donated two large containers which to be sited at the club.
Donations, particularly of clothing and blankets, can be made at A & T MW Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit; Greenfields Private Members Club, Wigan Road, Westhoughton or the Journal Office, 44/46 Railway Road, Leigh during office hours.
