A PRESTON man was killed and four people injured in a crash on the M55 yesterday (Wednesday).
Christopher Willers, 46, from Gisburne Road, Brookfield, died at RPH from multiple injuries he received when the car he was travelling in was hit by a Ford Transit van.
Mr Willers and Judith Grayston, 42, from The Square, Whittingham, were travelling east along the motorway when the bonnet of the Seat Ibiza flipped up, near the A585 Kirkham and Wesham turn-off.
The pair stopped in the fast lane where they attempted to fix the bonnet. It was not known whether Mr Willers was in the car when the collision occurred around 7.22am.
Ambulances from Blackpool, Lytham and Broughton, took the injured to Royal Preston hospital; Judith was being treated for serious head, shoulder and lower leg injuries; 41-year-old van driver Brian Wallace and his passenger, Thomas Maguire, 61, have also been treated. If you saw anything of the smash, call police 01257 791427.
