IN a follow-up to your article regarding prostitution and the red light district in Deepdale (Citizen, September 9), I feel compelled to express my view.
Many people will argue that prostitution is morally wrong.
Others will say that it should be legalised.
I am one of those people.
Society should not be allowed to dictate the moral actions of individuals, especially when there is no harm done to any person.
If prostitution was legalised, it could be controlled, allowing those who wish to do so raise income legally and the relevant authorities could promote sexual health to those who need it.
The fact is that prostitution exists and will not go away, despite what the police.
Legalising it will make it a safer occupation for those involved.
