DIAMOND couple Jack and Annie Hynes have been married twice - to each other.
The couple, of Westminster Drive, Leigh, celebrated their first war wedding in Leigh on September 9, 1939, taking their vows at 8am at Bedford Parish Church - six days after hostilities started.
Then they married again five years later at St Joseph's RC Church when Annie turned to the same religion as her husband.
And she wore the same navy blue and white suit on both occasions.
Sadly the glitter was taken off the occasion for the couple, who suffered the recent loss of their 53-years-old daughter Jacqueline.
But the 79-year-olds were joined by their surviving daughter, Jennifer, and family members for a quiet family meal in Walkden.
They have four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Jack spent his working life serving 48 years with Sutcliffe Speakman, 40 years of it travelling all over the country.
The couple are pictured with their greetings from The Queen.
