AT approximately 9.45am on Sunday at the Mercer Hall pool in Great Harwood I shall complete my 2,000 lengths for Sharron Davies Challenge for cancer research. Included in that is my 22-mile challenge - to swim the length of the Channel Tunnel - after which I carried on to make it 2,000 lengths before the millennium.
I have also entered Sharron's "50-swim" in November - my effort will be 50 lengths.
May I thank people for putting up with me in the pool and the Lancashire Evening Telegraph and Citizen for the publicity they gave me.
Thanks, too to Maria Quinn, of Aphrodite in Oswaldtwistle, who presented me with a beautiful black and gold swimming "cossie" to complete my challenges.
My raising sponsorship money will go on until the end of December, then I shall send it to Sharron Davies.
