HIS countless friends at Saints and beyond are mourning the death of Jack Gill, who served the club in many voluntary roles a generation ago.
Mr. Gill, of Hewitt Avenue, Eccleston, died in Whiston Hospital on Saturday, aged 73. He leaves his widow Doreen, daughter Evelyn, son John, and four grandchildren.
For many years secretary of Saints' social club, Jack was on first-name terms with endless RL giants of the past, including Len Killeen, Tom Van Vollenhoven, Keith Northey, Eric Ashton and Geoff Pimblett.
A funeral service will be held at St. Luke's church, Knowsley Road, on Monday at 1.45pm.
