BLACKPOOL Scorpions were once again depleted through injuries, holidays and work commitments when they travelled to league leaders Burtonwood Bridge, where they lost 28-2.
The home side took the lead with a try from a suspicious looking forward pass.
But Craig Campbell kicked a penalty for the Scorpions to make it 6-2.
Prop forward Keith Slater went on a barging run and was stopped inches short of the line.
On Burtonwood's next possession they broke away from their own 20 metre area to score in the corner.
The Scorpions had plenty of opportunities to put pressure on the Burtonwood line but sloppy handling let them down when they had good field position.
The opposition punished them for their mistakes with two well taken tries to lead 22-2 at half-time.
The Scorpions tightened their defence up in the second half but once again failed to capitalise on their chances with man of the match Jamie Ashworth going close.
The only score in the second half was another breakaway try by the Bridge from their own half.
