Clock Face Miners 18 Royton Tigers 9 CLOCK Face finally got their season underway with this hard fought win. In an evenly matched first half the only points on the board were a penalty goal for Clock from Karl Walker and a drop goal by Dodd for Royton. Seven minutes into the second half Carl Thompson forced his way over. Clock were now getting on top and Graham Leadbetter who crashed through three defenders to score, Walker adding on the conversion. Royton were not to be outdone as they hit back but Clock put the game out of their reach when Adams squeezed in at the corner, Walker converting. The Axess Communications man of the match was Graham Leadbetter.
