BARBER Geoff Nairs is aiming to be a cut above the opposition.
For the popular snipper is bidding to get his name into the Guinness Book of Records by erecting the world's tallest barber's pole outside his shop in West Street, Thatto Heath.
The idea is the brainchild of Geoff and his pal Carl Dingsdale and they are hoping to get sponsorship for their efforts in aid of the annual Children In Need appeal in November.
And the dynamic duo, who are hoping to enlist of the local Territorial Army unit to erect the pole, have also been promised a dead tree by the St Helens Council Ranger Service.
