THE Government has issued new guidelines to protect "whistleblowers" in the NHS.
Health Minister John Denham says health service staff concerned about malpractice will be protected and should not fear being branded a troublemaker or damaging their careers.
Said Mr Denham: "I want all staff to feel they can speak out about NHS malpractice, whether it's poor clinical performance, financial malpractice, rick to patients, without fear of being frozen out."
He added: "Often people on the ground are aware of a problem long before it comes to the notice of managers. It takes incredible courage for these people to voice their concerns."
