A TAXI firm is offering a reward to anyone able to help police trace two men who attacked a driver and ran off without paying the fare.
The driver picked the men up in his Rover SLDi outside the Bradlegh public house in Widnes at about 1.10am on Friday, September 10, and took them to Clock Face Road.
After asking for the fare he was attacked from behind by one of the men. During the ensuing struggle he noticed that one of them had a weapon, possibly a cosh.
The driver later received hospital treatment for a head wound.
Both the men are believed to be in their 30s and were wearing blue sweatshirts, one of which had a logo on it. Police believe they could have been members of a sports team on a night out in Widnes.
Anyone who can help police with their inquiries can contact DC Gary Skilky on 0151 777 6874, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
