THREE Leigh stars may be playing on Grand Final night after all.
Although Ian Millward's men missed out on a place in the showpiece final at Headingley later this month, the club's rise from the bottom to the top has been recognised at RL headquarters.
Tim Street, Anthony Murray and Heath Cruickshank (pictured) have all been put on stand-by for the West of Pennines representative side that plays the East of Pennines in a curtain-raiser to the big game on September 25.
Prop Street, who is also in the running for the Northern Ford Premiership Player of the Year award, has started in all Leigh's 32 games this season.
He has put his bad disciplinary record behind him, only having three yellow cards all year.
Hooker Murray finished the campaign as the club's leading try scorer with 21, despite missing three games because of suspension.
Aussie back rower Cruickshank, who will be one of three overseas players in the side, recovered from a broken jaw in only his second game to help steer Leigh into the play-offs. He has just signed another 12-month contract.
The West of Pennines team will be jointly coached by ex-Great Britain internationals Steve Hampson (Lancashire Lynx) and Mike Gregory (Swinton Lions). The full squad will be announced shortly.
