MP Greg Pope found himself treading extra carefully - but it had nothing to do with his political career!
The MP peeled off his shoes and socks to try out some of the latest equipment unveiled at the launch of at Accrington Victoria Hospital's Gait Analysis Clinic.
And Mr Pope conducted the opening ceremony at the hospital's chiropody and podiatry department.
The new clinic, run by the CommuniCare NHS Trust, will allow chiropodists to carry out more detailed and accurate biochemical assessments than would normally be possible in community chiropodist clinics.
Patients with more complex gait problems will also be referred following initial assessments at community clinics.
The new equipment includes a treadmill and video camera linked to a computer.
In future, it is expected the service will be extended on a private basis to sportsmen and women who have biochemical problems.
