THE exports director of Cavalier Carpets, Blackburn, has died.
Dieter Jolmes, who joined the firm in 1983, leaves his wife Pauline and two children Nikolas and Anna.
Mr Jolmes, who lived in Langho, helped the company build up a UK sales base and tap into export markets and became known for his innovative approach to business, visiting South America, Russia and places emerging from Communist control when few other firms did so.
Cavalier Carpets managing director Gerry Lowe said: "Dieter will be sadly missed. He played an integral role in the development of this company in the early years and latterly in establishing the company as a formidable force in exports and the contract carpets arena."
