GANGS of children - some as young as five - threw stones at firemen answering an emergency call.
A brigade spokesman hit out at the latest in a series of incidents in which youngsters started fires then waited to attack crews with bricks and other missiles.
The incident involved a rubbish blaze in Brunswick Street, Burnley.
