Blackburn Hawks 1 Altrincham Aces 4
AFTER last week's opening English Ice Hockey League Division One (North) win over Sheffield, Hawks could have been forgiven for being over-confident ahead of last night's meeting with Altrincham.
But a single goal from Don Mackriel was all the home side could muster after a woeful display left them smarting from a 4-1 defeat.
Mackriel's second period strike came after good work from Jamie Thomson and Neal Haworth, but proved a mere consolation as the Aces ran riot to claim the victory.
Just to make matters worse, former Hawks star Simon Mills scored twice for the visitors.
