JOHN Lund missed out on a record seventh World Stock Car title after finishing third in the final at Coventry.
But the Clitheroe driver had the satisfaction of eliminating current champion and arch rival Frankie Wainman Junior in an action packed race. Victory went to Murray Harrison, with Wainman Senior taking second.
Hoddlesden's Darren Barton emerged favourite for the British 125cc Championship after finishing second in the penultimate round at Brands Hatch yesterday.
The only other contender for the title, Steve Patrickson, could only manage fourth, with Chris Burns, riding the RCD Motorsport of Burnley Honda, taking the race win.
INS Ducati rider Neil Hodgson, from Burnley, collected a third and fourth in the British Superbike 'double header'.
