CHARGING sky-high prices for food, etc. at motorway service stations has been going on for many years.
However, now the 'captive audience,' the motorists, realising this, now take their own drinks and sandwiches.
The service chiefs don't want this and, not wanting to lower their prices, have decided to enforce a rule that motorists pay for parking over two hours.
The 'take a break' for safety reasons will again be a lucrative gain.
Surely, the Office of Fair Trading should investigate all the prices of service stations and this new 'resting charge.' One solution would be for operators to charge 5p or 10p for using the toilet - as they can't take their own!
With the thousands of pounds raised from this, they could abolish parking fees and lower food prices - hopefully!
