WOMEN who will celebrate their 100th birthday in the year 2000 are being asked to join celebrations for International Women's Week.
The annual week-long festival is held in recognition of women's contributions to activities in Blackburn and Darwen.
Next year's activities will begin on March 4, with groups and organisations across the borough getting together to host a series of events.
Councillor Maureen Bateson, chairman of Blackburn with Darwen Women's Forum, said: "We are hoping to build on the tremendous success of last year's festival and would like to invite local women who will celebrate their 100th birthday in the new millennium year, particularly during International Women's Week, to contact us."
Individuals or groups who would like further details about joining the activities or organising their own event for International Women's Festival 2000 should contact Brenda Pickup or Angela Ingram on 01254 585437 or 585110.
